Przegubowiec is a site created by public transport enthusiasts. Polish meaning of word "przegubowiec" is an articulated vehicle (bus, tramway) - a necessary part of public transport in Warsaw. Mission of our site is to provide other enthusiasts with information about buses, tramways, trains and everything other concerning public transport in Warsaw.
Public transport system in Warsaw consists of numerous bus and tramway lines, two municipal railway lines and one metro line. The bus network is constantly expanded, another metro line - crossing Vistula river - is being built at the time.
Whole public transport system in Warsaw is managed by ZTM, which was set up by Warsaw local government. ZTM concluded agreements with municipal transport companies as well as privat companies, which were selected in open tenders. Companies working for ZTM are listed below:
- MZA - Miejskie Zaklady Autobusowe - municipal bus company
- TW - Tramwaje Warszawskie - municipal tramway company
- MW - Metro Warszawskie - underground company
- SKM - Szybka Kolej Miejska - municipal railway company (kind of S-Bahn)
- Egged Mobilis - private bus company
- PKS Grodzisk Mazowiecki - private bus company
- ITS Michalczewski - private bus company.
It must be notified that there is an agreement between ZTM and KM (Koleje Mazowieckie - regional railway company), which enables passengers buying some tickets distributed by ZTM to use KM trains in area of Warsaw. Similiar agreement is concerning WKD (regional railway - one line linking Warsaw with cities in south-west).
